Golden Hour

Golden Hour is your time to shine.

Golden Hour is a structured one-hour intervention period built into the school week to ensure students master essential skills and stay on track in rigorous courses. Using real assessment data, we identify specific standards students may not have fully learned yet and provide targeted, short-term support during the school day. Our goal is simple: every student learns at high levels. Golden Hour allows us to respond quickly, strengthen confidence, and maintain engagement across all content areas.

Why have Golden Hour?

  • To prevent students from falling behind in rigorous coursework
  • To respond quickly when students are “not getting it”
  • To provide targeted reteaching based on real data
  • To close learning gaps before they widen
  • To build student ownership and confidence

It is NOT...

  • a punishment
  • a free period
  • random tutoring
  • permanent placement

It is...

  • Short-term, skill-focused support
  • Flexible grouping based on current data
  • A commitment that all students can learn
  • with the right support at the right time

Four types of Golden Hour Choices.

  1. Guided Instruction.  Teacher reviewing or reteaching class content.
  2. Subject Tutoring. Individual subject-specific help.
  3. Study zone. Quiet room to complete homework & projects.
  4. Enrichment. Specialized instruction & exploration beyond the curriculum for students not in need of extra support.
