This semester we will begin implementation of a schoolwide intervention model. As a school site, we are committed to provide our students with quality instruction and opportunities to get help beyond the classroom. We recognize that sometimes students fall behind in courses. We also understand that with co curriculars and outside obligations, student cannot always attend tutorials. To close the achievement gap at clovis west, we will be providing on site intervention in coursework weekly within the school day. This intervention period is called “The Golden Hour”. This will happen on Tuesday’s and be driven by the student choice with support from mentors. Students will be able to sign up for what they need during the “Golden Hour Period”.
Attached is an image that explains the four options of classes students can sign up for during this period. This means there will be a different bell schedule on Tuesday’s, but it will not change start or stop times. Attached is also an Infographic that explains in detail more information on “The Golden Hour”. All students will receive training by Clovis West administration next week during their BLOCK English classes. Students will reflect on their semester 1 final grades, graduation requirements, and set goals for this semester. Students will be trained on how to sign up for the Golden Hour in this training.
