Peer Counseling is a class offered on campus where students are trained in listening and communication skills. When students have been certified, they are then available to counsel other students on campus. A student can be referred by an adult in his or her life, friends, or the student can request a Peer Counselor in C4. During sessions, students are able to talk about issues that they may be struggling with. (i.e. family problems, peer relations, etc.) It is important to note that Peer Counselors do not give advice, but attempt to support the student with his or her own good solution. Peer Counselors believe that confidentiality is vital and a key pillar in their program.
The Peer Counseling Program is supervised by Lori Hurley
