Applications are being accepted for students seeking a Congressional Nomination to attend a United States Service Academy. For graduating seniors, the Academy Nomination Application must be mailed or hand delivered to Congressman Nunes’ Visalia Office by Monday, November 16, 2020.
AIR FORCE NIGHT via Zoom- Oct 28th at 6pm
A meeting is to inform high school students of all grade levels, regardless of their academic profile, about the different career and college opportunities the Air Force has after they graduate high school. There will be Enlisted Recruiters to talk to students who want to Join the Air Force out of high school. An Air Force ROTC Admissions Advisor will also be in attendance to talk about high school and in college scholarships. Finally, there will be a representative from the Air Force Academy to talk about the admissions process and cadet life at one of America’s premiere public institutions.
The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is a multiple choice test used to determine qualification for enlistment in the United States Armed Forces. Drop in the Library to pick up a copy of the ASVAB Career Exploration Program Overview Guide to learn more about the test and access sample test questions.
The ASVAB is given at Clovis West and facilitated by our Librarian, Mrs. Laband. To take the exam, students must be in 10th, 11th and 12th grade. Please contact Mrs. Laband for ASVAB questions at [email protected]
ROTC stands for Reserve Officer Training Corps. It's a college program offered at more than 1,000 colleges and universities across the United States that prepares young adults to become officers in the U.S. Military. In exchange for a paid college education and a guaranteed post-college career, cadets commit to serving in the Military after graduation. When enrolled in ROTC you learn first-hand what it takes to lead others, motivate groups and how to conduct missions as a military officer. If interested, meet with a recruiter during your junior year to learn more about the application process.
