Starting March 1st, the second phase of the solar project will start at Clovis West. Unfortunately, this will impact student parking in the back parking lot. The new solar arrays are to be constructed where the existing student parking section is currently located. This section of the back lot will be fenced off. Students will have to park in the front parking lot along Teague and Millbrook. Please make sure you remind your child to park in stalls designed for student parking only.
We appreciate your patience as Clovis Unified continues to look for ways to reduce energy costs and save funds. Since 2014 with Phase 1 of the Solar Project, CUSD has saved 2.7 million dollars in annual utility costs. Once Phase 2 of the solar effort is completed, an additional one million dollars will result in annual savings for the district. We are looking to reopen the back parking lot to students around April 7.
